How to move WordPress to a new domain

Here’s a useful tutorial for WordPress users wanting to move to a different domain. I’ve had to carry out this process a couple of times and although it’s not rocket science, it’s handy to have a step-by-step list to ensure the process goes smoothly.

This is one of a series of WordPress guides that cover a whole host of topics.

WordPress 2.0

I’ve upgraded my version of WordPress from 1.5.2 to 2.0. I haven’t had much time to play with it yet, but it all seems to be running nicely so far.

By the way, Happy New Year :)

WordPress migration complete (well, almost…)

I have finally moved from Blogger to WordPress, something I’d been meaning to do for months. I must thank this anonymous commenter for spurring me on, and Andy Skelton for his Modified Blogger to WordPress import tool.

There are still a number of tweaks I’d like to carry out, but at least WordPress is installed and I can start updating the site again.

Thanks also go to Dan Guzman for recommending WordPress, Azeem Azeez who designed the template, the entire WordPress dev team for writing such a great platform, Timo Newton-Syms at W2-S Internet Services for being a fantastic Web host and, most of all, you for choosing to visit!

Update: I had a few issues with getting my old Blogger permalinks to point to the right place, but all should be well now. If you find any problems, please leave a comment.

Stuff is happening…

I’m still working on the new site, but I have decided to go with WordPress rather than Drupal. Watch this space!
